COMMERCIAL SENSE. Lot G development features contemporary architectural design and seeks to be in harmony with the surrounding KL Sentral development. The layout design of the 7-floor retail block emphasizes connectivity at multiple levels to adjoining buildings and transport stations via walkways and bridges. The column-free central atrium in the retail building forms the main focal public space, allowing for maximum shop frontage, whilst permitting clear, uninterrupted views of the shops facing the atrium. Skylight boxes, randomly placed on the roof of the atrium, bring in natural daylight. The rooftop, designed with soft and hard landscape features, could be used for outdoor events. The 27-storey office tower, which is located at the northeastern end, is envisioned to exude its own unique entity and yet is identifiable as an integral part of the retail mall. The shape of the floor plate is designed to achieve maximum efficiency and human comfort with optimum energy usage. The core of the tower is strategically placed in the middle for minimum intrusion to the retail space below as well as for allowing panoramic views of KL. Metal louver screens in a chequer design liken to songket weaving, combined with series of horizontal tubes, are extensively used not only as sun-shading devices but also as external aesthetic features, to give a distinct character to the development and simultaneously to provide comfort to the building occupants. 4 levels of basement are allowed for parking.
