Hilton Burau Bay
Langkawi
Nestled between Langkawi’s ancient forests and the tranquil waters of Burau Bay, Hilton Burau Bay Resort is designed to sit lightly within its natural surroundings. Set against the backdrop of Gunung Mat Cincang and overlooking the Andaman Sea, the 251- room resort is carefully integrated into the landscape, with views oriented towards the sea and surrounding greenery.
The design prioritises the preservation of existing trees and minimises disruption to the environment. Open, naturally ventilated spaces and carefully positioned design elements frame views of the mountains, sea and surrounding greenery, creating a close relationship between the built environment and nature. Pathways meander through mature trees, allowing the landscape to remain a defining feature throughout the site.
The arrival sequence begins at an elevated level overlooking Gunung Mat Cincang and a central courtyard of preserved trees, while a sunken lounge maintains uninterrupted sightlines. The resort also acknowledges Langkawi’s geological heritage through a natural stone exhibit, referencing the island’s rich landscape and history.
